Ensuring full compliance with ASTM D611 (Method A) and IP 2, this apparatus is ideal for the determination of the aniline point and mixed aniline point of petroleum products and hydrocarbon solvents. Ayalytical Instruments aniline point tester is suitable for transparent samples with an initial boiling point above room temperature and where the aniline point is below the bubble point and above the solidification point of the aniline-sample mixture. The aniline extraction procedure is performed by placing a specified quantity of aniline and sample material (or sample plus n-heptane) in a test tube, and stirring and heating the mixture at a controlled rate until the two phases become miscible. The mixture is then cooled at a controlled rate, with the temperature at which the two phases separate being recorded as the aniline point or mixed aniline point.

The Aniline Point Apparatus is comprised of all implements necessary for this simple testing procedure, including an electric heating device for complete temperature control during testing; a 40x70mm Pyrex jacket for maximum insulation; a 20x150mm graduated Pyrex test tube for safe sample containment; a manual agitator for sample stirring; and 2 corks for leakage protection. With Ayalytical Instruments aniline point apparatus, hydrocarbon characterization has never been so easy.

Simpler, smarter, superior performance

Ensuring full compliance with ASTM D611 (Method B) and IP 2, this automatic aniline point apparatus is ideal for the determination of the aniline point and mixed aniline point of light, medium, and dark petroleum products and hydrocarbon solvents too dark for testing via ASTM D611 method A. This thin film procedure is performed by placing a specified quantity of aniline and sample material (or sample plus nheptane) in a test tube and mixing the sample while it is suspended in a controlled rate heat bath until the two phases become miscible. The mixture is then cooled at a controlled rate, with the temperature at which the two phases separate being recorded as the aniline point or mixed aniline point.

The Aniline Point Apparatus is comprised of all implements necessary for this simple testing procedure, including an electric heating device with electronic regulator for complete temperature control during testing; a speed regulator for the efficient, consistent pumping and stirring of test samples; an 800mL heat resistant Pyrex beaker; an adjustable support for ideal positioning of the pumping motor; and a heat resistant, graduated Pyrex test tube for safe sample containment. This apparatus also comes equipped with a blocking cover assembly with manual bath stirrer, external cooling coil, and a stainless steel sample pump rotor. With Ayalytical Instruments thin film aniline point apparatus, hydrocarbon characterization has never been so easy.
