Automated specimen preparation and testing include liquid handling with a peristaltic dispensing pump, specimen placement after temperature stabilization, stirring, and removing the specimen after the test completion to eliminate manual steps prone to error.

The electro-mechanical head includes a temperature probe, stainless steel mixing motor, and automated specimen holder for precise operation. A built-in reservoir ensures easy water handling, with automated dispensing and draining. Introducing the AgDDI: automated sulfur corrosion analysis on silver strips

The Silver Digital Detection Imaging (AgDDI) device accurately and robustly rates the corrosion on silver coupons, without relying on manual visual assessments known to be unreliable. The four-step automated VISION algorithm rates silver corrosion on the 0 to 4 scale defined by ASTM. The AgDDI standardizes the process of silver corrosion testing reliably, ensuring fuels stay within acceptable limits.

In a small and sleek design, silver coupons undergo induced corrosion, and the silver strip is then inserted into the AgDDI for determination and rating. The AgDDI measures each pixel on both sides of the silver strip for sulfur-induced blackening and rates the coupon accordingly, on a scale from 0 (no corrosion) to 4 (significant blackening).
