ERADENS X combines a compact 32 × 16 × 34 cm design, a lightweight 7 kg build, and easy operation. It requires only a 2 cm³ sample and provides rapid results within 15 seconds after temperature equilibrium is reached. Its integrated color touchscreen simplifies operation, while USB, Ethernet, and RS-232 connectivity allow seamless transfer to LIMS, PCs, or printers. FillingProof™ technology provides automated bubble detection to verify bubble-free sample filling.

The system can prefill the internal dead volume, pressurize the sample for a number of measurement runs, and relieve pressure at the end. For preparation, a pump including an air dryer is available to degas the sample with vacuum and to filter and dry the compressed air.

Three interchangeable sensor modules cover different needs: the standard PAMAS HCB-LD-50/50 spans 4–70 µm(c) per ISO 11171 (1–100 µm per ISO 4402, 1–200 µm per ISO 21501-3) at up to 24,000 P/mL; the PAMAS HCB-LD-25/25 covers the same size range at up to 120,000 P/mL for higher-concentration samples; and the PAMAS SLS-25/25 narrows to 1.5–25 µm(c) per ISO 11171 for fine-particle work. Counting runs across 8, 16, or 32 free-adjustable size channels, shown on a backlit 320×240 graphical display, with an integrated 32-column thermoprinter and data transfer over RS-232C.

A wear-resistant ceramic piston pump holds a constant flow across pressureless, low-pressure, and high-pressure sampling up to 420 bar (6000 psi). The PAMAS HCB-LD-50/50 volumetric sensor is calibrated to 4–70 µm(c) per ISO 11171 as standard, with an optional 2–100 µm calibration per ISO 4402, at a maximum particle concentration of 24,000 P/mL.

With the distinct capability to incorporate both a high temperature and a low temperature module, this singular analyzer can cover a temperature range from −25 °C to 420 °C with only 1–2 mL of sample per test. To complete a test, the device produces an electric arc in a closed chamber to determine at which temperature the arc ignites the sample vapor, which is measured by the pressure change observed in ignition. The notable feature of the ERAFLASH S10 is the built-in autosampler, making it the ideal solution for unattended flash point testing.

The X-ray fluorescence (XRF) experiment begins with exposing a sample to high-energy photons from an X-ray tube, which induces transitions of electrons between atomic orbitals and results in the emission of fluorescent photons.

A 200 W palladium-anode X-ray tube runs at 50 kV, 4 mA, exciting elements from oxygen through uranium. A programmable beam filter (Zr standard, Al optional) and a three-position crystal changer (LiF(200) and PET standard, RX25 and Ge optional) feed a flow proportional counter and scintillation counter, covering samples up to 44 mm in diameter and 33 mm tall on a 12-position auto-sampler with a 30 rpm sample spinner.
