The advanced design of the Saybolt Viscometer guarantees compliance with ASTM D88 and ASTM E102 requirements, covering empirical procedures for determining Saybolt Universal or Saybolt Furol viscosities of bituminous petroleum products at specified temperatures between 21-99ºC or 120-240ºC, respectively.
Designed with safety and accuracy in mind, the stainless steel, open jacket Saybolt viscometer bath is equipped with constant digital micro-processor PID temperature regulation, over temperature alarm, an insulated double wall, and motorized agitator for precise Saybolt viscosity tests. A single gage fill point, visible from the outside of the instrument, allows for easy fill without overflow while the internal light indicator alerts to low liquid levels. The stainless steel electric heating component and cooling coil allow for quick boiling and cooling of liquids, because your time is valuable.
Available in models 180, 180/2 (2 positions), 180/3 (3 positions), or 180/4 (4 positions), and with a capacity of approximately 10 liters, the 12 kg Saybolt viscometer is equipped with brass oil cup with stainless steel flowing orifice, calibrated and polished for 1.76 mm Universal or 3.15 mm Furol, orifice wrench, and thermometer support to deliver timely, accurate results. PID temperature control maintains ±0.1ºC, providing superior stability. The in-bath drain valve and stainless steel walls provide for easy post-test drainage of liquids, making cleanup a breeze after Saybolt viscosity testing.
