Introducing the StoneDDI: diffuser stone calibration and verification system

The Stone Digital Detection Imaging (StoneDDI) device verifies the status of new and in-use diffuser stones. The StoneDDI can calibrate both metal and ceramic diffusers in cylindrical and spherical designs, helping ensure each stone is within bounds for related testing. Under tightly controlled airflow conditions, the system calculates pore diameter and permeability.

The StoneDDI operates in a two-test-position design to determine diffuser-stone characteristics. Its built-in high-resolution vision system captures even the smallest bubbles for reliable determination of pore diameter and permeability.

A dual-camera CCD detection system works alongside a mass flow meter and electronic pressure control to read flow and pressure directly, with a patented optical arrangement and red LED (600 nm) light source. Running on embedded Windows 10, the StoneDDI integrates seamlessly with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) over its Ethernet and USB interfaces, with an easy-to-use 10.1″ touchscreen for setup and review.

Flow, pressure, and calibration images are held on 64 GB of internal SSD storage and moved out over the interface that suits the lab.
