Ensuring full compliance with ASTM D482, ASTM D874, ASTM D4422, IP 4, IP 163, ISO 3987, and ISO 6245, Ayalytical Instruments’ ash and petroleum furnace is ideal for the determination of the ash content from distillate and residual fuels, gas turbine fuels, crude oils, lubricating oils, waxes, and other petroleum products in which any ash-forming materials present are normally considered undesirable impurities or contaminants; the sulfated ash content from unused lubricating oils containing additives and from additive concentrates used in compounding; and the ash content of petroleum coke.

The intelligent design of the ash content apparatus allows for the efficient generation of heat via insulated ceramic fiber to swiftly reach a maximum internal temperature of 1100ºC during testing, all the while preventing extreme heat from reaching external surfaces. The highly durable heating muffle, which is extractable from the back of the petroleum furnace, is comprised of a refractory cordieletic material to provide rapid heat jolts to test samples for ash content determination. Designed to last, the ash content petroleum furnace’s resistors are securely housed in a heat-resistant Kanthal screen. Furthermore, the single-action lateral opening door is equipped with a pressure wedge and stop device for electric feeding during opening, allowing operators to safely avoid contact with the red hot furnace while loading and unloading the petroleum furnace muffle. Operators also safely avoid inhaling smoke, which escapes from the back of the instrument via a natural draft exhaust configuration. The command and control panel are conveniently positioned on the bottom side of the furnace, which also contains an easy-to- read digital thermalized regulator and a safety switch for superior system protection.
